I am giving this café top marks as there is nothing I would change nor suggest as needing improvement. During three lazy days spent in the 'mountains' recently, our group of six visited three times. The courtyard, with its dappled light and market umbrellas, was the perfect place to chat and relax. ??All food was delicious, from spicy kumera wedges with wasabi sour cream dressing to light-as-air scones and beautiful glazed tarts. The talented chefs in the kitchen make absolutely everything for the perfect breakfast, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. Excellent coffee is a bonus. Service from the loveliest gentleman is wonderful, and comes with lots of smiles and good-natured banter. I really wish this café was just around the corner but, as it's not, I'll just have to arrange another trip to Leura soon! 08 October 2010

After reading the reviews on this cafe, we made the trip here for breakfast on Father's Day. We were not disappointed. All of the food was delicious. It was fresh, and tasted so good! We can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu. Highly recommend! 27 September 2010

This cafe is a great find, we have been twice now and each time have really enjoyed it. Today we took our 13yr old son who was starving, he chose the Lamb Kofta burger and it looked fantastic, I didn't think he could possibly eat it all but he did! He raved about it all afternoon and is wanting to go back again soon. I had the chicken and mushroom pie with roasted veggies which was also delicious and my husband had the pie floater which he thoroughly enjoyed. We will return again soon. 26 September 2010

Delicious food. (I had the mixed mushrooms with poached eggs on a herby brioche style bread). Friendly service, Good coffee, nice surroundings and they also provide highchairs for baby. 5 stars! 31 August 2010

Away from the bustle of the main drag, a haven. Inside and outside dining. You can hear the water running outside and inside, the background music is just right for choice and volume. Frog art on the wall set the scene and tempo for delightful food and drink. Superb coffee and fresh made, while you wait, fruit juice. Good advice on selections from staff. It's just damn good! 17 August 2010

This is by far the best cafe in the Upper Mountains. The food is fresh and beautifully cooked. Service is fantastic and the cakes and desserts luscious. Make sure you try the pea and ham pie floater, wonderful winter food. 02 August 2010

Been here alot. Love love love the food and the service. Can't beat the coffee and veggie breakfasts turkish sandwiches are killer too! Peaceful atmosphere! 30 June 2010

What a revelation! This hidden gem is off the main tourist strip of Leura Mall and has atmosphere in abundance. A peaceful little garden courtyard dappled with sunlight and dotted with lush water features is the perfect spot for the ultimate lazy brunch. We went with family before kicking off a days sightseeing around the area and it really was the perfect start to the day. ??

We had eaten at several other cafes around the area during previous visits which all seem quite formulaic next to this place. The quality of the ingredients and the care taken in their assembly really shines through, the kitchen team obviously take their trade seriously. I had their big breakfast which should've been called 'mountain of breakfast' the portions were so generous. Everyone else was lured by the pancakes which were super light and fluffy and piled high. ??

All topped off with great coffee and a relaxed service style. I'm planning on becoming a regular! 12 April 2010

Had we not looked at Eatability.com.au, we would never have found this place, which is away from the main road e.g. Leura Mall, where most of the cafes are. And I'm so glad I did look on this website, as this cafe is absolutely fantastic.

Most of the tables are outside under huge parasols/umbrellas (with a few tables inside which is really cosy). The service I thought was very good. The staff were very welcoming/friendly, they offered to seat us inside even though we had a large buggy with 2 young kids. However, we were concerned that we would get in the way of other customers, so we decided to sit outside.

When we saw the menu, we didn’t know what to choose as all the dishes sounded lovely. I went for the Vegetable, Lentil, Pesto and Feta pie, which was sooooooooo yummy (I almost went for the Steak pie, will have to have that the next time I go!), and my other half had their Ham, Mushroom, Spinach and Roast Onion quiche which was really tasty also. Most dishes come with a side salad (they usually have a choice of 3 side salads up on the board which you can choose from, I’m sure they said that they change these choices daily or weekly).

They don’t have a kids menu, but the guy serving us offered to do a toasted cheese sandwich for our 3 year old. We ended up ordering a Chinese BBQ Pork Rice paper wrap, which our son didn’t eat but that was no worries ‘cos we scoffed the lot (it was really nice with the dip that they’d made)!

They have a wide range of dessert/cakes if you have a fancy for something sweet. I had the Rhubarb and Apple crumble, hubby had the Pear tart. The staff said that they make their own food there, and I believe it showed! Portion sizes were pretty good for the prices that they charge, in fact we thought their food was so good, we went back again later on (before we left Leura), just to have their Sweet Potato wedges and another cup of coffee and their freshly made fruit juices (you can have any combination of fruits from their list for $4 which I think is very good value)!

I can understand why it’s popular with the locals, but it’d be a huge hit with tourists and people living elsewhere in NSW. I think another person posting on this site mentioned that they knew someone who’d had their wedding catered for by Lily’s Pad, the food was simply amazing and beats the other cafes on Leura Mall hands down. We’ve visited a few of the cafes on Leura Mall since we moved to Australia, and this is by far the best. I’ll definitely be recommending Lily’s Pad to friends/family if they head up to Leura.  04 March 2010

Yummo breakfast and lovely atmosphere. Great for a sunny afternoon! 06 February 2010

Lily's Pad is a real 'locals' cafe, it's off the main street, in a quiet area with stunning, sunny courtyard. The menu is inventive, fresh and delicious. Yummy. Staff are friendly and discrete. Salmon fish cakes are delicious and the salads excellent. Recently I went to a party and Lily's Pad had catered: outstanding. I think we're really lucky to have this cafe in our village. 15 December 2009

Just spent a lovely long lunch amongst the Lily ponds at this delightful little cafe. It's out of the way and the staff are great. Fab milkshakes. We had the chicken pies with salad, very tasty. The chocolate and caramel tart with coffee was a real treat. We're already planning our next visit. 05 December 2009

My father-in-law has been recommending Lily's Pad for a year or more and we finally tried Lily's Pad for lunch on Saturday. We liked it so much we returned Sunday, even though we were staying in Blackheath.

It was cold and rainy both times, but it was warm and dry both inside (Sunday) and outside under the plastic tent and with heater on. The courtyard would be beautiful on a nice day with pond and lily shaped tables.

Saturday we had capuccino and punjabi chai to drink. Both were great. The punjabi chai is from a local roaster and served in a generous pot. I think it made 3 glasses. I enjoyed so much that I had again Sunday though there were many other tempting drinks on the menu, and purchased a bag of the leaves.

I had the tandoori lavash wrap for lunch and my husband had the open faced steak sandwich. Both were served with your choice of the 3 daily salads. Both sandwiches and salads (roast veggie and beetroot, pumpkin and sesame) were fresh and tasty, though I thought the steak sandwich was more flavourful. They make their own chutneys and such for sandwiches.

A man at the table nearby was raving that his pie was the best he'd had, so we tried the steak pie Sunday and the roast pumpkin with sour cream, dill and coriander soup of the day (they had 2 other soups that also sounded nice). Both were delicious. We also shared the bread plate which came with 3 breads (banana and honey, pear and something and orange and something. Pine nut maybe?), strawberry ricotta and a fresh chutney which I think was apple and rhubarb.

The breads were nice, but I thought a bit pricey at $16.50 for the 3 pieces. We agreed that the steak pie was excellent. The food and drinks were very good overall, healthy and fresh, service good and family friendly. The atmosphere is nice and I enjoy that it's off the beaten patha bit. I also thought it was very good value, especially compared to many of the other options in the Blue Mountains.

We'll definitely be back and recommend to anyone visiting Leura. 07 October 2009

Probably the best breakfast I have had in a long time. Inexpensive to. Truly great. 28 April 2009

We found this out of the cafe when we were desperate for a relaxing coffee and a bite to eat. We had searched all throughout the mountains and found nothing but crowds and everywhere requiring a booking. Then we find Lily's only recently opened and already one of the mountains best cafe's in the region. There was two of us. The staff were friendly, cheerful and added to the atmosphere which was relaxed and easy going.

We both tried the pies (made not six feet from where we were seated) Absolutely delicious. Had fresh juice with it. Perfect. Coffees were the perfect finish with a delicious muffin from the cabinet.

Even thougfh the day was pretty cool. We sat in the afternoon sun in window and looked out over the simple little water feature. Ambience was wonderful. ?Stayed for ages. Very reasonably priced everything for two came to under $40.

If you want a good break from whatever you are doing, we recommend Lily's is the pefect sit down to take a break. Currently the best kept secret in Leura. Our next trip to the mountains will see us stopping in again. Check it out, you will not regret it. 20 August 2008
